Learning the Marathi Numbers is very important because its structure is used in every day conversation. The more you master it the more you get closer to mastering the Marathi language. But first we need to know what the role of Numbers is in the structure of the grammar in Marathi.
Marathi cardinal number convey the "how many" they're also known as "counting numbers," because they show quantity.
In Marathi numbers from 1 to 20 are unique and therefore need to be memorized individually. Some of the numbers from 21 and upward could be formed using a pattern.
For example:
In English 21 can be formed as 20 + e + 1 which is twenty one.
In Marathi 21 will be 1 + 21 which is Ek + Vis = Ekvis.
However the pattern can differ such as 23 is tevis, 33 is tehetees, 43 is trechalis etc.
