Catalan Numbers

Learning the Catalan Numbers displayed below is vital to the language. Catalan cardinal number convey the "how many" they're also known as "counting numbers," because they show quantity.

Grammar Tips:

In Catalan numbers from 1 to 20, as well as the tenths, are unique and therefore need to be memorized individually. Numbers from 21 until 29 are formed by using the following pattern: 20-i-1. For example, 22 is formed by using 20-i-2, i.e. vint-i-dos. From 31 onwards, the -i- disappears and numbers are formed by using the two numbers connected by a dash. E.g.: 45 can be formed by using 40-5, quaranta-cinc. Hundreds also use a dash, for example: dos-cents (200). However, the dash is dropped in the remaining cases, for example: dos mil tres-cents vint-i-tres (2,223) and cinc mil vuitanta (2,080).
